About

We’ve been walking the hills and mountains of the national parks of the UK since 2008, sometimes alone, in a group or just together. We’ve had a great time walking the hills of the national parks, we’ve had some hairy moments over the years and thought we should run a bit of a blog. It might help with route planning or just give you a bit of confidence to get out there and visit the countryside.

We love the non-hilly bits of the national parks too, Ambleside in the Lake District is probably our favourite haunt, the shops, pubs and spirit are awesome. As well as walking we’ll give you a view of the non-walking amenities… well actually probably just the quality of the nearby cakes or cream tea!

Most of these posts will be about the Lake District, for us its a bit of a home and we love it! In our view it has a character and beauty the other parks just don’t have.

That said, we enjoy a trip the Peak District, Brecon Beacons, Dartmoor and of course Snowdonia. Sadly, the length of trip to Scotland means we’re not up there as much as we’d like.
